If you are having problems viewing Videos on my site, you are running Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer 7 and 8 have problems running Adobe Flash, which interferes with the display and play of my YouTube Videos.

If you are only seeing empty tables with little square icons in their corner, where videos are supposed to be located, it is likely that you are having problems with Internet Explorer.

For more on this problem, see:

Kioskea: endless problems with IE8 vidoes, too many suggestions, too many solutions.

Techquestions: remove and reinstall flash.

YouTube Forum: Blames everyone, but that doesn't help me!

My Solution: reinstall flash. It works, but IE remains problamatic.

There is only one good way to solve the many problems of Microsoft Internet Explorer

Download a better, more secure, and faster Browser

Better Browsers than Microsoft Internet Explorer

All of the following Browsers are far superior to Internet Explorer.

I suggest you download them all, check them out, and then pick your two favorites.

Use one as your default browser, use the other as a backup for when your new favorite browser crashes.

Trust me, it will happen.

Hey, IE can still be your #1 browser, but you will be happy when they have a bad update or security problem.

Therefore it is wise to Save all of your passwords and favorites on two browsers.

Other Issues with Browsers

Opera: Recently rushed a buggy version (10.5 series) to release. Latest versions (10.6) are cool.

Mozilla Firefox: Good old reliable Firefox! Not too fast, nor too fancy, but works well in all situations.

Safari: I am not a Safari person. Nothing wrong with the browser itself. Safari is fast and renders pages well. But it is just not my cup of tea. I just don't like the way it is set up. You may love it.

Chrome: Chrome is fast and the most secure browser on the internet. But it has a few irritating bugs. First, it loses your passwords. Really! Second, it has a tendency to shut-down incorrectly, resulting in a stupid warning when you reopen it. Third, it automatically updates without notification or consent. Fourth, the history feature is slow and sucks. But if you are surfing sketchy sites, chrome is the browser for you. It is rock-solid secure. And the internet is pretty sketchy.

I use the combination of Opera and Chrome as my #1 and #2 browsers. I keep an updated (with my passwords) version of Firefox on standby, as Chrome can instantly reload passwords from Firefox when it loses them.

I use Safari and Internet Explorer to view my webpages for compatibility issues. It was during such a test that Explorer's massive screw-up with Flash and YouTube caused me to construct this page.

A Good Strategy-For your own Good

I don't want to upset your comfortable relationship with your crappy but comfortable Internet Explorer browser. But do yourself a favor: you should insure that any problems with your browser does not interfere with your browsing.

In this case, it appears that IE8 will not properly load and display embedded videos on your favorite sites, like mine. This is unacceptable. I walked a hell of a lot of miles to shoot those videos, and their presentation will not be stopped by a faulty browser. But that's up to you.

If you are anything like me, you depend on your browser for a number of tasks; Work, Research, communication with friends and the world, among many other uses. When this is disrupted by an inferior browser update, your ability to use your browser, and therefore complete your various missions, is severely compromised.

Therefore, it behooves you to insure that you have constant, reliable access to the internet, even when the latest new version of your favorite browser will not work on your most important sites. Like IE8 and any site with a flash video, which is completely unacceptable.

And when this happens to you, which it will again at some future point in time, having reliable backup browsers insures that you will not be stranded.

So take my advice and download a few browsers that are superior, safer, and faster than Internet Explorer. Test them out and find the best two. Keep your #2 browser up to date with your favorites and passwords, and use the #1 browser to check out my videos.

Now, when your #1 browser goes on the blink, you will be able to keep working while their programmers figure out a patch.

This is the only way to prevent the problems of huge software companies from becoming your problem too.
